Instructional design with theatrical flair
For the past 20 years, I have pursued two separate careers; Instructional Design & Technology and Theater. While these two different paths seem to have very little in common, when we look closer, the worlds of Instructional Design and Theater, actually share many similarities. Both require the ability to bring something special to an idea that will allow it to be retained and appreciated. That is what makes my instructional design methods unique. I am able to look at your educational needs and integrate elements of entertainment and theatricality that will create a more dynamic and memorable learning experience.
To hone my abilities and build on my years in academia, I pursued a master’s from the University of South Carolina in Instructional Design and Technology. This degree, married with my undergraduate degree in Production and Direction of Stage and Media, allows me to present a fresh perspective in instructional design. Although still active in the world of theater, my desire to find meaning in the world of education runs deep. My mother, brother and wife are all educators. Their discussions at various family functions are at the heart of my desire to find exciting ways to present educational material in a manner that engages its intended target audience. What you get with me, besides a distinctive take on instructional design, is years of experience in the following sectors:
In my limited downtime, I enjoy spending time with the four ladies in my life, my wife and three daughters. Together we enjoy Philadelphia and University of South Carolina sports, all things Disney and Star Wars. Occasionally, you will find me on the soccer field or with an Xbox controller in my hand.
