Professional Presentation
My first Professional presentation was presented on Mobile learning. It was based on my mobile learning module from my first class at the University of South Carolina, Design and Development Tools I. Based on this Design, I gave a presentation to our TAC Committee members in early December of 2020, explaining the benefits of Mobile learning. I was asked to present at the University's lightning round presentation for the Center for Teaching with Technology . This presentation led to me answering questions on mobile learning for the wider university community.
With the initial presentation, I discovered that offering new ideas to people sparks a lot of questions. Therefore, being more prepared with information on mobile learning and information not covered by my presentation is imperative. I also discovered that offering information on a subject may make people think you are an expert; preparing to provide that you don't know everything about the topic you are talking about is important. You may also walk away with new knowledge from your audience. Finally, preparation is key, especially in our current climate of remote presentations. Being sure your technology is updated and ready before a presentation is key. Finally, if you are asked to present and be a part of a panel, be sure to brush up on other subjects covered on your panel and how they feed into your topic. This experience also led me to co-author a paper on mobile learning, which will hopefully be published in the fall of 2022.
