AECT STANDARD 1
Powerpoint Instructional UnitContext & conditions: This Powerpoint Instructional Unit was created in December of 2020 for Dr. Moore's Instructional Design and Assessment Class.
Scope: At this point, I began to apply new knowledge to the Design Process. Therefore, when this design was created, I was relatively new and unsure about the design process.. Role: I served as the loan designer on this project. Instructional Design: I utilized a very basic form of the ADDIE Model for this instructional unit. Again, this was my first steps into formal instructional design Related performance indicator(s): This model demonstrates AECT Standard 1 (AECT Board of Directors, 2012) by showing creativity in applying instructional materials. In addition, it proves Using by demonstrating the use of technology to support and enhance student learning. Reflection: The project is an example of my early work. It is an example of an early win for me. Returning to school after 20 years and finding to my surprise that I could do the work convinced me to move forward. This project became a basis for something I have become passionate about mobile learning in the past two years. |

Rapid eLearning Planning Document |
Context & conditions: Rapid eLearning tool design assessment was created in May of 2021 for Dr. Senn's Design and Development Tools II class.
Scope: The paper is an example of a written assessment and a planning document. Although the end result is intended to benefit my theater company, this particular paper was written exclusively for my class in the M.Ed program at the University of South Carolina. Role: I served as the loan author on this paper. Instructional Design:The document shows my thought process as a designer using the Smith and Ragan Instructional Design Model. I worked as a designer; although I was versed in the subject matter, I was not as informed as the theater Instructor who served as SME. Related performance indicator(s): This model demonstrates AECT Standard 1 (AECT Board of Directors, 2012) by demortraing assessment and evaluation. Reflection: This analysis explains a step-by-step process explaining how my design will utilize the Smith and Ragan Model. By using Smith and Ragan's assessment-based approach, I found a design that answered the needs of my SME. This case provides a context for theater history and its influences on contemporary theater. This document proves that I can follow the Match Strategy as Smith and Ragan (1999) suggested. A flow can be observed from analysis to strategy to evaluation. |
